Estrogen promotes growth of the uterine lining while progesterone stabilizes this tissue. Unchecked by progesterone, a uterine lining constantly stimulated by estrogen will grow, thicken, and produce abnormal cells. Uterine cancer develops in a significant percentage of women on ERT or “unopposed estrogen.”

Estrogen alters the cell membrane function such that sodium and water floods into body cells, while potassium and magnesium are lost from the cells. This will result in intracellular edema or bloating and water retention. Progesterone works to protect the cell membranes from estrogen-created problems.

Natural progesterone is vitally necessary for women taking conjugated estrogens; birth control pills and HRT. Made from horse urine, conjugated estrogens remain at elevated levels in the woman’s body for up to 13 weeks after administration. Estrogen can only be “washed” out of the woman’s cells by natural progesterone.

Progesterone counter-acts the effects of conjugated estrogens. Produced from horse urine, conjugated estrogens are far more potent and much longer lasting than estrogen produced by the women’s ovaries. At least eight times more potent than natural estrogen.

Declining levels of progesterone & estrogen signal the uterus to shed its endometrial lining. This results in a shortening of the menstrual cycle, resulting in irregular cycles. To prevent the irregulariy of cycles and the  physical and mental symptoms  that come with it, natural progesterone is must for women over the age of 30.

Taking estrogen alone causes cells in the endometrium to proliferate and greatly increases a woman’s risks of endometrial cancer.  It is absolutely necessary to counter-act estrogen’s cancer causing effects with natural progesterone. 

Low and/or declining levels of progesterone stimulate the release of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins cause the uterus to constrict. To relieve the anxiety and uncomfort of a constricting uterus, natural progesterone is necessary to relax the uterus.

Uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts are routinely caused by estrogen dominance, progesterone deficiency, and/or both.  Using natural progesterone routinely causes the disappearance within two to four menstrual cycles of these cysts. Natural progesterone is the safest and most effectively way to eliminate uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts.

The active ingredient in all birth control pills is estrogen. Birth control pills create estrogen dominance in the woman’s body which leads to a host of unwanted physical, emotional, and psychological problems and symptoms. Any woman on HRT or birth-control pills absolutely must counter-act the negative effects of estrogen with progesterone cream.  

Estrogen increases the level of adrenal hormones present in the bloodstream, and an estrogen-induced aldosterone surge prevents the normal excretion of salt from the kidneys. This salt buildup leads to fluid retention. Progesterone reduces aldosterone and activates salt excretion, acting as a diuretic.
